It’s Wednesday 04/30/25 – Understanding Forgiveness in Psalm 130:3-4
I read Psalm 130:3-4 NLT this morning in my quiet time and it reads as follows: Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness that we might learn to fear you. The psalmist understood that his sins make him guilty and certainly deserving of God’s judgement. I am eternally grateful for Jesus who paid the debt for our sin so that we wouldn’t have to. There is nothing that can compare to the great love that God has for his children. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV The word fear in the scripture means reverence (a deep respect) that include worship and obedience. God’s forgiveness turns sinners into saints, those who follow Him in obedience.
