It’s Finally Friday 04/25/24: Finding Peace Through Faith

In reading my daily devotion early this morning these words, “come away with me” seemed so fitting for this day. These words are recorded in the Song of Solomon 2:10 NLT. My lover said to me, “Rise up, my darling! Come away with me, my fair one! Certainly, the Lord is the love of my life! I hear him calling me away from the woes of this past week. “The winter is past, and the rains are over and gone“. Calling me to a place of rest in HIM. Calling me away from everything selfish, weak, worldly, and sinful. Calling me away from this seemly religious world that claim they know HIM and have no interest in the mystery of the higher life. It is so easy to get caught up in the cares of this world and only God can draw us away from it. God’s grace is sufficient. His power works best in weakness. I’m like the Apostle Paul. God’s grace is all I need. “I’m glad to boast about my weakness, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 NLT. I thank God for the Holy Spirit that lives on the inside of the believer. It is our guide, teacher and keeper. Coming to him is like coming home from exile, a stormy see that is raging to a place of calm and new life. Lift me up Lord to that realm of rest! There is a scripture in Matthew 11:28-29 NLT that reads – Then Jesus said, come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.
